Abstract

Post-COVID physiological changes continue to affect global populations, especially individuals already suffering from chronic illnesses. This study investigates the extent to which post-infection immunological alterations contribute to the progression, exacerbation, or onset of chronic diseases across diverse demographic groups. A multicenter cross-sectional analysis was performed across six tertiary hospitals between 2021–2024, evaluating immunological markers, chronic disease indicators, and patient-reported outcomes. Findings suggest that dysregulated immune responses—characterized by elevated inflammatory markers, persistent cytokine imbalance, and impaired cellular immunity—significantly accelerate the progression of cardiovascular, metabolic, autoimmune, and respiratory chronic conditions. The study emphasizes the urgency of integrated clinical monitoring frameworks and personalized therapeutic interventions for post-COVID populations.
