Abstract

Cardiometabolic disorders, including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular disease, remain leading causes of global morbidity and mortality. Interindividual variability in drug response is a major challenge in managing high-risk patients, often resulting in treatment failure, adverse drug reactions, and poor long-term outcomes. Pharmacogenomics—analyzing genetic variations influencing drug metabolism, efficacy, and toxicity—offers a precision-focused approach to optimize therapy. This research paper investigates the significance of pharmacogenomic profiling in predicting drug response among high-risk cardiometabolic patients. Through a mixed-method evaluation of genetic biomarkers, drug–gene interactions, clinical case studies, and stakeholder perceptions, the study highlights how genomics-guided personalized therapeutics can enhance treatment outcomes, reduce adverse events, and support more efficient healthcare systems. Findings support the integration of pharmacogenomic testing into routine clinical care to improve therapeutic accuracy and prevent complications in cardiometabolic populations.
