Abstract

The soil microbiome serves as the biological foundation of agricultural productivity, influencing nutrient availability, plant health, stress tolerance, and sustainable crop development. This research paper provides a comprehensive assessment of beneficial soil microorganisms—such as rhizobia, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), plant growth–promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB)—and their collective role in enhancing crop nutrient uptake. By exploring microbial interactions, nutrient-cycling mechanisms, and soil ecological processes, the paper highlights how microbiome engineering and microbial inoculants can improve soil fertility and boost crop yields. A case study, detailed analysis tables, and a structured questionnaire strengthen the applicability of the findings. Recommendations emphasize precision agriculture, microbiome-based biofertilizers, and sustainable soil restoration strategies.
