Food Safety and Quality Control: Analyzing Contaminant Detection Techniques in Processed and Fresh Food Products
Issue Vol. 1 No. 01 (2025): Volume 01 , Issue 01 Oct 2025 --- Section Articles --- Published Date: 2025-10-01
Abstract
Food safety is a global public health priority, as contamination in processed and fresh food products continues to pose significant risks to human health, trade, and food security. This research paper presents an extensive analysis of contaminant detection methods used in the modern food industry, including microbiological assays, biosensors, chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques, molecular diagnostics, and emerging nanotechnology-enabled detection tools. The study evaluates the efficiency, sensitivity, limitations, and cost-effectiveness of each method. A field-based case study and comprehensive data tables illustrate how detection systems are applied in real-world scenarios. The findings underscore the need for strengthening multi-tier food safety monitoring, integrating rapid detection technologies, and establishing uniform global standards to ensure consumer protection.
